Applications are invited for a Junior Clinical Fellow rotational posts in Paediatrics at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to gain paediatric experience at a world class paediatric hospital with a wealth of training and education opportunities available to successful applicants. Whilst these are not accredited training posts, they attract the same training opportunities, including study leave, a named educational supervisor and a very active educational program.

We have several posts available starting in Feb/Mar 2024 and Aug/Sep 2024.  There are six month posts available or we can offer longer rotational posts between various specialties. We have a strong track record in supporting trainee through a number of posts and subsequent successful entry into the national training programmes however we are keen to hear from you whether your prior experience in paediatrics is minimal or significant.

Departmental and job summaries are included within the generic Job Description.  All duties are worked on a full shift system and are compliant with the Junior doctor contract.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The paediatric posts are based in the Evelina London Children’s Hospital at St Thomas’ Hospital in various specialties.  The neonatal posts are based in the neonatal unit at St Thomas’ which is one of the largest in London.

Potential posts are available in the following specialities and there may be more than one post available in a particular specialty.

  • Complex General Paediatrics (FY2+ – ST3)
  • General Paediatrics with special interest in Medical Education (FY2+ – ST3)
  • General Paediatrics with special interest in Quality Improvement (FY2+ – ST3)
  • Paediatric ENT (FY2+ – ST3)
