Applications are invited for the post of a Clinical Fellow Higher (ST 3-5) in Medicine for the Elderly at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, part of Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This post is available to commence from 13 June 2026 for a period of 12 months.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join the Department of Medicine for the Elderly as we develop services within the Trust. Applicants will be expected to provide StR Level (ST3+) medical cover as part of the acute frailty team (Acute Frailty Assessment Unit) and a core 27 bedded DME bed on rotation.
There will be an opportunity to gain excellent experience in the management of frail older patients to develop your PDP. There may also be opportunities to attend outpatient clinics and service evaluations if this is of interest to the successful applicant.
The contribution to the General Internal Medicine Registrar Rota is not expected but can be negotiated. This is a commitment of 6 weeks in every 44 weeks. As this rota is written on a rolling basis, it is expected that this post will contribute no more than 8 weeks during a 12 month post. This will include night shifts, on take cover and post take ward rounds. The timetable is flexible and according to the successful candidate’s needs.
In order to be considered applicants must meet the essential criteria outlined in the Person Specification.
Please note that these posts do not carry Postgraduate Dean’s approval or training recognition.
Full Registration and a Licence to Practice with the General Medical Council at time of application is required.
Please refer to the Job description and Person specification attached for further details on the main responsibilities and duties for this post.
