Job overview

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to work as Clinical Fellows in our Carshalton and Wallington IRH

This is for Full time (40 hours per week) post, at South West London and St George’s Mental Health Trust, based at Jubilee Health Centre, Wallington, Surrey.

This post is being offered at the equivalent of Core Trainee level, and the appointment would be at a grade based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant.

Main duties of the job

Successful applicants will work at Jubilee Health centre, as part of an MDT.  The clinical supervisor will be the team consultant. The team also has a second doctor (Speciality Dr).

However, the post is suitable for doctors at several stages of their career including Post Foundation Year 2, doctors seeking attainment of specific expertise in an FY3 year, or an additional clinical post while they obtain MRCPsych qualifications.

The posts will also suit doctors seeking to enhance their portfolio to gain entry to the training grades and doctors already in non-training Grade positions e.g. SAS doctors or Trust Fellows who are seeking a formal educational structure to their posts.

Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be available to successful candidates, including attendance at the weekly academic programme.

Out of hours on-call is not a compulsory part of the role, but there may be an opportunity to take part in the on-call rota, if desired and subject to availability. Participation in the Daytime Duty Doctor cover is expected.

If you are an energetic and motivated doctor who would like to join our service, then we would like to hear from you. We look forward to receiving your application.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will be able to take part in post graduate educational activities within the Trust including the academic programme (but not the MRCPsych course which is solely for doctors on the training rotation).

Training, educational opportunities and appraisal will be available to successful candidates.
