An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre, enthusiastic and well-motivated individual to join our Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance team on a 12 month fixed term secondment basis.

We are seeking a highly competent and experienced person with a high level of interpersonal, organisational and administration skills to be our Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance Support Officer. The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working within an  administrative role in a busy environment supporting teams in the delivery of their work programmes.

Main duties of the job

A flexible working pattern is needed to coincide with the accessibility of healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will have an NVQ3 in business administration or equivalent. A sound knowledge of MS Office packages, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook, is required in order to support the delivery of the work programmes. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team to inspire trust and confidence is essential.

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal which they will use to liaise with a wide range of professionals across the organisation. The role will also incorporate responsibilities for supporting the Clinical Effectiveness Co-ordinators, Assurance Manager and Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance in developing policies, procedures, guidelines and infrastructure systems, to ensure the organisation is able to meet its statutory and regulatory and NHS requirements.

The ideal candidate will provide high level administrative support to the Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance team to ensure an effective service is provided.

Other responsibilities include working closely with the Resuscitation team to collect data required to comply with the requirements of the National Cardiac Arrest Audit.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • Facilitate all internal communication processes in relation to clinical effectiveness and assurance activities, ensuring all enquiries areeffectively managed and successfully resolved within a prompt timescale.
  • Liaise and effectively communicate at all levels using written, oral and electronic methods to publicise activities; using tact andsensitivity to deal with difficult issues as they arise.
  • Liaise with a wide variety of stakeholders to enable the delivery of a timely and comprehensive clinical effectiveness and assuranceprogramme.
  • Provide high level administrative support to the Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance team, by assisting with aspects of activities including project design, data collection, analysis, programme evaluation, report preparation and dissemination of outcomes, as instructed and in line with the grade and nature of the role.
  • Carry out ad-hoc analysis of data as requested by staff throughout the Trust ensuring an understanding of the data provided andadvising of its appropriate use as needed.
  • Develop and sustain systems and processes to allow the Trust to monitor and measure its assurance against external standardsincluding CQC registration.
