
An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Educator to join the existing education team within Specialty and Integrated Medicine (SIM) Clinical Service Unit to cover maternity leave. We are looking for a Clinical Educator to expand the Infectious Diseases speciality training programme, along with the High Consequence Infectious Diseases simulation training and related clinical competencies. The other part of the role will be setting up our Outpatient Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) line access training programme, increasing the team resources and training in midline insertions.
Working clinically alongside members of the nursing staff, you will facilitate them in learning new skills, taking on new roles and responsibilities by undertaking an assessment of the nurses competence when taking on these new skills and providing feedback to the individual nurse. You will also be working with staff to improve standards of practice in healthcare associated infections (HCAIs), and will be an active member of the Quality Improvement Collaboratives. We are seeking to appoint highly motivated nurses with a passion for developing staff, who can work autonomously, be flexible, show resilience and has good organisational skills. The role is both challenging and rewarding, and requires the individual to act as a role model at all times, motivating and supporting staff in their professional development and the delivery of high standards of patient care.
