Education and supporting a team is key to a successful and competent team which would be led by the successful candidate, This post would also support external agencies ( e.g.: Ambulance service) with educational programmers’ in enhancing care and education to support our patients journey.
The post holder will work clinically with a range of learners in the workplace such as overseas, return to practice, supervised practice, pre and post registration programmes across all bands. They will be expected to work with the team, acting as a role model in practice and supporting the team in developing, expanding and consolidating their knowledge within the Neuroscience speciality.
Full nights are unlikely but weekends and full day shifts would be likely over a varying number of days which could be discussed at interview.

Key Responsibilities • Work clinically alongside learners in practice placements, providing hands-on patient care and supporting learning objectives • Manage own patient group while contributing to team-based care, maintaining clinical skills and supporting service demands • Support and guide mentors, supervisors, and students across a range of programmes • Deliver teaching sessions, including clinical education, within in-house programmes • Provide tailored support to learners, including those with performance or additional learning needs • Promote coaching and mentorship approaches to enhance learner development • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g. hospitals, ambulance services) to deliver shared learning opportunities • Contribute to audits, quality improvement, and development of practice placements
Organisational & Leadership • Support line managers with advice and guidance in clinical areas • Strengthen partnerships between clinical practice and education teams • Develop and enhance the clinical learning environment • Promote inter-professional learning across disciplines • Contribute to policy and guideline development for learner placements • Participate in recruitment of students and nurses, including those requiring additional support
Education & Training • Support learners in achieving competency and programme outcomes • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of curricula and assessment processes • Provide teaching and support to learners, mentors, and educators • Assist in mentor/supervisor development and training • Ensure effective learner induction and orientation in practice areas • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusive learning environments • Identify and develop new learning opportunities and placements
Professional Development • Maintain continuous professional development in line with regulatory and Trust requirements • Attend mandatory and role-specific training • Contribute to service development, evaluation, and personal development planning • Adhere to professional standards (e.g. NMC Code) and revalidation requirements • Role model organisational values and professional behaviours
Additional Responsibilities • Assess, implement, and evaluate patient care programmes • Undertake extended clinical roles in line with policies • Promote evidence-based nursing practice
