Job overview

To contribute as a key member of the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) Education Team, taking responsibility for the strategic and operational delivery of high-quality education, training, and professional development for both clinical and non-clinical staff within the EOC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be accountable to the EOC Senior Manager (TDC) for the implementation and delivery of the EOC Education Plan, providing leadership, expert knowledge, and strategic direction in the design, execution, and evaluation of educational initiatives.
  • Ensure the quality, compliance, and effectiveness of professional education and training programs, supporting continuous learning and development across the EOC.
  • Collaborate with clinical governance and management teams to develop and deliver assessment and mentoring opportunities that enhance patient care quality and clinical outcomes.
  • Provide specialist educational support and guidance to EOC Clinical Hub colleagues, promoting the dissemination of learning and facilitating ongoing professional development in partnership with EOC Clinical Education Developers and Senior Clinical Advisors.

Main duties of the job

The EOC Senior Clinical Education Developer plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the delivery of high-quality clinical education across the Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). Responsibilities include providing strategic educational leadership, supporting CPD, and ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards. The role involves close collaboration with senior operational managers to meet training needs and advising leadership on statutory, mandatory, and vocational education.

The post-holder contributes to the EOC Annual Education Plan and leads the development of bespoke training for Clinical Hub staff, including remote and rotational clinicians. They are accountable for the cohesive delivery of clinical education and deputise for the Head of Education when required.

The role includes managing a team of education professionals, driving performance, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals. The post-holder contributes to national policy development, ensures educational governance compliance, and maintains robust performance monitoring systems.

They must maintain professional registration, clinical credibility, and Tactical Commander competency, participating in the on-call rota. Additional duties include overseeing assessment processes, acting as Course Director, and supporting learners in complex cases.
