Job overview

The Clinical Applications Team is responsible for controlling access to, and maintenance of, clinical information systems (including RiO) across Mental Health, Community Health, Community Forensic, Low Secure and Medium and High Secure Services.

We're looking for a conscientious individual to join us in this busy team. This post is an additional temporary resource in order to help us deliver the Digi-Care programme of work to improve our use of electronic patient records.

Main duties of the job

In this post, you will be involved in enabling, modifying and removing user access to clinical information systems; creating and updating the records of healthcare professionals and admin staff; and building and maintaining key elements within the system (such as wards, clinics and teams).

The successful candidate will need to be organised, highly computer literate, and familiar with RiO or an equivalent clinical information system (ideally from within a support or systems administration role).  You will also need to have excellent communication skills and an ability and willingness to learn.

Within this role you will be required to prioritise your own workload and work well with conflicting deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of an NHS Trust, its organisational structure and information needs, as well as having knowledge and experience of working with Caldicott and DPA/GDPR principles.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please refer to Job Description and Person Specification attached to the vacancy for more details  of the job.

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.

Please note that this post does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled worker visa. Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. Applicants requiring a Skilled Worker Visa can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship against the relevant criteria here https://www.gov.uk/skilled-worker-visa
