Clerical Officer, Band 3

[Fixed term/Secondment until 30th September 2026]

Applications are invited for the above full-time, fixed term/secondment post (until 30th September 2026) based in the Pathology Department, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee. The successful applicant will be required to produce pathology reports from digital files and handwritten notes, along with other clerical duties. There is a requirement to work in the Archive stores filing paraffin blocks and stained glass slides.

Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent keyboard skills and experience of Microsoft Word packages are essential. In addition, applicants should have good interpersonal and organisational skills, a professional attitude and be able to work as part of a team.

Applicants will have an NVQ level 3/RSA 3 in office/clerical practice or equivalent level of experience within an office environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in a busy, progressive Cellular Pathology Laboratory Office within a large Teaching Hospital.

You will be required to comply with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland throughout your employment.
