Job overview

Are you starting out on your career as a Children’s Speech and Language Therapist, perhaps newly qualified or with some experience, and looking for broad opportunities to practice and extend your skills?

Are you looking to work as part of a supportive team in a flexible working environment?

You will be joining the Children’s Integrated Therapy (CIT) team at an exciting juncture! As we implement a new Service structure and a new Therapy model based on Care Aims framework (Kate Malcomess) and Therapy Outcome Measures (TOMs), we have a vacancy for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated therapist to join our team in the City of Oxford, based at our East Oxford Health Centre.

This role can be offered on a full time basis (37.5 hours per week) or part time (minimum of 22.5 hours per week).

Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.

Main duties of the job

  • Working with experienced colleagues, you will be based in our city locality. You will have a minimum of 2 days in a special school combined with community settings supporting children on our core clinical pathways (Speech Sound Disorders, Language Difficulties, Social Communication), giving you a fantastic breadth of experience, and the possibility of exploring different areas of interest as you consider your future career.
  • You will have opportunities to work alongside other members of the CIT team – Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and CIT Assistant Practitioners, as well as collaborating with the wider MDT in Education, Health and Social Services.
  • You'll manage your own caseload to manage and prioritise, delivering timely assessment and intervention packages, contributing to the SEND process, engaging in clinical meetings (including Multi Agency Safeguarding Supervision sessions), and delivering training to staff and parents.
