Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Central Area is seeking a motivated and compassionate Children’s Looked After Nurse to join our dedicated Children’s Looked After Nursing Team in the Conwy & Denbighshire Area. We are seeking a practitioner that is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people in care.

This is a vital role supporting some of the most vulnerable children and young people across North Wales, ensuring they receive high‑quality and child‑centred healthcare.

You will work collaboratively with local authorities, education, primary care, carers and specialist services across the region to promote positive health outcomes and advocate for the needs and rights of children who are looked after, making a meaningful difference.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for completing statutory health assessments for children and young people who are looked after, in line with Welsh Government guidance and BCUHB standards.

  • To  develop, implement, and review individual health care plans that reflect each child’s unique needs.
  • To provide specialist clinical advice to foster carers, social workers, and multi‑agency partners.
  • To contribute to multi‑agency meetings, care planning, and safeguarding processes across the six North Wales local authorities.
  • To promote physical, emotional, and developmental wellbeing using evidence‑based  practice.
  • To maintain accurate, timely, and high‑quality clinical documentation in accordance with BCUHB & NMC requirements.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and /or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
