This new and exciting role has been created to join the Senior Pharmacy Management Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to help shape the pharmacy workforce of the future. Being professionally and operationally responsible for the technician and assistant workforce (over 150 WTE staff), the successful candidate will help provide strategic leadership for this staff group across all sites within the Trust.

A strategic thinker, who demonstrates exceptional leadership skills and operational knowledge of hospital pharmacy services, along with in-depth knowledge of the pharmacy workforce issues will excel in this role.

Working locally, regionally and nationally, the successful candidate will ensure that the STH Pharmacy Technician/Assistant workforce is at the forefront of workforce development initiatives.  Advising the Chief Pharmacist directly on all professional issues, the post holder will ensure that all legal and statutory requirements are met.

• Strategic Management and Business Planning ·         Professional Leadership ·         Operational Management – dispensary and medicines management teams ·         Workforce Development ·         Governance and Patient Safety ·         Management responsibilities for a senior team (1wte band 8a, 3wte band 7) covering all hospital sites.
