Chief Registrar (Trust Doctor) in Emergency Medicine / Care of the Elderly
Newham University Hospital is looking for applicants for two available Chief Registrar posts for the 2025/6 training year starting in August 2026. Applications are sought from ST4+ trainees in Emergency Medicine and Care of the Elderly Medicine or equivalent (Locally Employed Doctor with equivalent experience).
The Chief Registrar role provides senior trainees with 40-50% protected time to develop skills and confidence in leadership, management and quality improvement. Those appointed will also be supported to attend the Royal College of Physicians’ (RCP) year-long bespoke development programme. The aim of this programme is to give appointees the skills and knowledge that may be put into practice in an environment that provides autonomy and flexibility to develop and support projects that address key local challenges and priorities. This may include staff health and wellbeing, service improvement, engagement and morale, education and training, workforce, and sustainability.
