With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Charge Nurse to join our Stroke Liaison Team. This role is pivotal in shaping patient care and outcomes across the stroke and neuro rehabilitation pathway. The Charge Nurse with the support of the Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Nurse will lead and manage the Stroke Liaison Team, ensuring seamless coordination of care and ongoing support for patients and families from acute care to rehabilitation and beyond.

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide specialist nursing care, education, and support to patients and their families following stroke, acquired head injury or TIA.
  • Act as an autonomous practitioner across Tayside, working in hospital, community, and home settings.
  • Facilitate communication between acute and community teams, promoting evidence-based practice.
  • Deliver training and clinical support to health professionals and act as a resource for stroke-related care.
  • Contribute to service development through audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Management of a small team of staff nurses, aiding their professional and personal development.

The post is open to:

  • UK Registered nurses with significant experience in stroke and/or neuro rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrates advanced clinical practice and leadership skills or willingness to learn.
  • Strong commitment to patient-centred care and service improvement.
  • Confident in providing specialist advice and support across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience in team leadership or service coordination (desirable).
  • Ability to travel
