Carer Support Volunteers provide a welcoming, informative, and supportive presence to carers of patients during their hospital stay.
Many carers are not immediately identified and may feel unsure about the support available to them. Carer Support Volunteers help bridge this gap by proactively engaging with carers as soon as they are identified, providing them with essential information, and discussing services that are available within the hospital.
This role complements clinical care by ensuring carers feel recognised, informed, and supported from the early stages of a patient’s admission.
