Do you have experience of using secondary or specialist mental health services and an interest in helping to support and develop future services?

The Bradford and Airedale Early Intervention in Psychosis Service has two opportunities for individuals with lived experience of mental health difficulties to work with the team as a Development and Support Workers.

As an integral member of one of our care teams, you will inspire others, challenge stigma and discrimination and promote recovery, positively sharing and drawing upon aspects of your own lived experience in both direct and indirect work with service users.

The role will involve close work with the service’s Clinical Lead, the successful candidate will also play a pivotal role in service development and innovation through engaging service users in the identification and codesign of projects.

We are looking for a highly motivated individuals, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can work flexibly and effectively as part of a team. In addition to BDCFT’s package, we offer:

Main duties of the job

To develop and maintain an awareness of carers perspectives of services and ensure the consistent representation of carers views into the planning and delivery of a needs-led, user focused service and to help the team to gain a deeper and more meaningful insight into the needs of service users and carers.

To promote the active engagement and involvement of carers in service planning, service delivery, review and evaluation.

To engage with and provide direct support to individual service users and carers in accordance with care plans and in partnership with multi-disciplinary colleagues and a range of health and social care agencies.
