Main duties of the job

DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB

To work under the direction of the registered community respiratory specialist nursing team.

To assist in the delivery of respiratory care including diagnostic spirometry performance.

Provide specialist education to patients in regards to healthy lifestyle, inhaler technique and self-management plans.

Care delivery in a community clinic or patients home environment.

Maintain accurate records.

Take responsibility for medical devices and service equipment registers.

Participate in service improvement and developmental initiatives.

To work within the multi-disciplinary team including therapy, social, housing, well-being services, administrative and support staff.

No requirement to manage/monitor budget

Job responsibilities

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
