To provide professional service support to the cardiac physiologists. this post will start with support worker role and in turn progress to training to carry out accurate examination and basic interpretation of ECG’s on both In and Out patients. Ensure high standards of patient care. Carry out Ambulatory blood pressure and 12 lead ECG recordings. Contribute towards the provision of a professional high quality diagnostic service supporting a multi-disciplinary team as required.

Main duties of the job

Support worker duties include getting the patient ready for their echocardiogram by performing height , weight and BP checks and assist with getting changed as required. In time with training responsible for recording a high quality ECG and identify abnormal findings to a suitable member of staff

Participate in the role of cardiographer on all wards assisting ward staff with ECG as required requested by phone or ICE

Maintaining correct good quality  ambulatory 24 hour tape and BP application in order to provide highest quality recording for analysis  and interpretation with accurate patient demographics

To assist cardiac physiologists and Echocardiographers in preparation of patients undergoing all investigations with in the department

Assist in training nursing staff, student physiologists and medical students in ECG positions and recording.

Cover workload in any Trust site including diagnostic centres as required depending on workloads and staffing

Stock top- up, ordering of supplies and maintain tidy work environment.

Assist in training nursing staff, student physiologists and medical students in ECG positions and recording.

Responsible for prioritising daily work load

Cover workload in any Trust site including diagnostic centres as required depending on workloads and staffing
