Job overview

We are seeking to employ a full-time Cardiographer.

The department provides services at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, City Health Campus and Sandwell Health Campus sites and carries out a variety of procedures on patients with known or suspected cardiac conditions. The successful candidate will be required to work cross site.

The successful applicant, when trained, will perform high-quality ECGs and non-invasive cardiac monitoring (Holter and BP monitor fitting) on patients of all ages, working across outpatient clinics and wards. You will support patient care by operating diagnostic equipment, ensuring accurate data capture, and assisting with clinical documentation. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and within a team are essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a dynamic service delivering cardiology diagnostics in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

This post could be filled by somebody who currently works in a different environment but is interested in a move into a clinical area, as full training could be provided. You will also be fully supported to complete the SCST Certificate in Electrocardiography.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will perform high-quality 12-lead ECGs and apply non-invasive cardiac monitoring devices (Holter and BP) in both the outpatient environment at the Sandwell and City Health Campus' and inpatient environment at the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

Duties also include:

  • accurate patient data entry
  • equipment setup and cleaning
  • managing patient interactions with sensitivity
  • ensuring clinical data is transmitted correctly to hospital systems
  • supporting clerical functions
  • maintaining stock

You will work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing essential diagnostic support to cardiology services across various hospital departments.
