Cardiac Physiologist - Fixed Term 12 Months Maternity Cover
We are seeking a dynamic and conscientious echocardiographer to work at Barts Health NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work at the Barts Heart Centre, St Bartholomew’s Hospital located in The City of London, with rotation to The Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. They will be required to contribute to the weekend working rota on a rotational basis. This role will provide the successful candidate with exposure to a variety of complex cardiac pathologies and clinical situations.
To be successful in being appointed to a band 7 post, the applicant must have full BSE/EACVI transthoracic accreditation (or international equivalent) and be able to work independently providing this service. The department holds dual accreditation with both the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) & European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), so this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career as a competent Echocardiographer with opportunities to progress to training in advanced specialist areas i.e. Cardio-oncology, pre/post complex valve interventions & inherited cardiac conditions.
An experienced Band 7 Cardiac Physiologist/Highly Specialized Echocardiographer/Cardiac Scientist is required to work competently in a busy Echocardiography Department. The post-holder will be required to perform complex-level tasks and assist senior staff as needed. The post holder must be able to work at St Bartholomew’s hospital and The Royal London Hospital. The post-holder will be required to work autonomously as a senior staff member within the echocardiography department, assisting senior staff with managerial tasks. In addition, the post-holder will be required to supervise, train, guide, and support staff in the performance of their roles and to provide support to senior staff members. The successful post holder will be expected to join the weekend rotation for inpatient cover.
