Job overview

The service will provide a central point of contact for all cancer patients and the post holder will work alongside the clinical nurse specialist team to enhance patient care and communication.

The post holder will act as a central point of contact for patients and triage calls to the CNS team escalating clinically important calls. The role will provide support, signposting and advice to patients and provide guidance, contact and support for patients as they journey through our hospital(s). The post holder will provide guidance and information to ultimately improve patient experience.

Main duties of the job

Under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse Specialist the Navigator will:

  • Act as a central point of contact for patients and triage calls to the clinical nurse specialist, escalating clinically important calls.
  • Support patient contact by signposting patient’s, family members and carers to the relevant support groups and other organisations.
  • Guide and advise patients as they journey through our hospital(s), ultimately improving patient experience.
