The successful candidate will manage a clinical case load of patients providing specialist advice and develop strategies with families to support continence and bladder and / or bowel management,. The specialist nurse will monitor outcomes and continue support or refer / discharge patient maintaining appropriate records to evidence care and outcomes.
The nurse will be the lead specialist in the Bladder and Bowel Service directly managing the registered nursing and play specialist team, operating within the guidance provided within the CDDFT managers toolkit . They will support specialist education and training to other staff, students and/or patients and lead clinical audit and quality improvement in the Bladder and Bowel Service

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
