One exciting post has arisen for a well-motivated and enthusiastic HCPC Registered Biomedical Scientist to join our team in Laboratory Medicine at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust.

HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (band 5 or 6 dependent on meeting person specification and experience).
As a Band 6 you will have an IBMS Specialist Diploma in Clinical Biochemistry.
The laboratory is well equipped and highly regarded by its users, with a track record of excellent performance. It has just undergone a positive UKAS surveillance visit and is MHRA compliant
Hours of working: 37.5 hrs over 7 days, taking part in a 24/7 out of hours roster.
The laboratory is an IBMS registered training laboratory.
There is a strong training ethos in the department and as a Biomedical Scientist you will be given the opportunity for CPD.
In your role you will undertake day to day analysis and validation of results, together with the monitoring of quality indicators. You will participate in out of hours shifts once trained and competent in the relevant areas. The Biochemistry laboratory has a managed service contract with Roche and is runs 2x Roche Cobas 8000 lines with associated preanalytical modules. The Biochemistry laboratory also has a Specialist Protein Section using Sebia and Binding Site systems.
Good communications skills, teamwork and an aptitude for problem solving are essential, as is a flexible attitude to work and willingness to adapt to changes in working practice. The Ideal candidate will be keen to develop their knowledge and skills.
