Cardiff and Vale University Health Board are looking to recruit Nursing students as Health Care Support Workers to join our Temporary Staffing Bank. As a HCSW, you’ll be at the heart of everything we do, supporting the doctors, nurses and specialists ensuring the patient receives the best possible care.

The successful applicants will be involved in direct and indirect care of our patients in line with agreed protocols. Some of the duties may include:

- Assisting with daily living activities such as eating, showering and using the toilet.

- Taking the patient’s observations such as blood pressure and temperature.

- Talking to patients and reassuring them.

- Assisting nurses and other staff when needed.

- Ensuring a high standard of infection control procedures, in accordance with our policies.

- Maintaining ward stocks, keeping storerooms organised, keeping clinical areas and equipment clean and tidy, and any other duties as delegated by nursing staff.
