This fantastic opportunity awaits dynamic, motivated Specialist Occupational Therapists looking to develop clinical, operational and leadership skills, as we are currently seeking experienced occupational therapists to join our therapy (rotational) team as Bank staff.
The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. You should have proven experience of working in the relevant areas of clinical therapy services.
The Occupational Therapist has to attend both ad hoc and regular work within the Band 6 general rotations. The rotations happen on a 9 monthly basis across the following clinical teams:

The successful candidate should be able to :-
1.Provide specialised Occupational Therapy (OT) service to patients treated within RFH services in the given clinical area. This requires working under guidance and incorporating evidence-based practice (EBP) in the management of patient care.
2.Clinically supervise and guide the professional work of less experienced Therapy staff and students as appropriate, while complying with professional and departmental standards of practice.
3.Assist in operational issues in the absence of the Therapy Team Leader.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Completes an advanced functional assessment and treatment of patients preparing them for safe discharge to home or the community. The caseload consists of patients with physical and mental disabilities, and encompasses various specialist clinical areas of Occupational Therapy.
2.Gains valid, informed consent and has the capacity to work within a legal framework with patients who lack the capacity to consent to treatment.
3.Carry out complex standardised and non-standardised OT assessments of functional ability (including personal care), cognition, home situation and psychosocial issues, liaising with senior OT staff as required for highly complex patients.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
1.Assists with service development by proposing improvements in own clinical area and recommending development of relevant procedures.
2.Identifies areas of unmet patient needs and service gaps and/or areas requiring service development in consultation with the senior therapy clinicians.
3.Supports Departmental and Trust strategies regarding Clinical Governance issues.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR LEADING AND MANAGING
1.Assists in induction of new recruits. This may include recommending the development and updating of induction programmes where necessary.
2.Responsible for providing regular supervision and individual performance reviews for less experienced staff with guidance from senior staff.
3.Assists in the training of occupational therapy students, taking responsibility for practice placement education and written assessments.
