REMOTE AND RURAL HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE SUPPORT WORKER (BAND 3)
ISLE OF EIGG
WEEKLY HOURS: Bank Hours - Flexible approx 2/3 hours per week
This post is an innovative post helping to deliver health and social care to the patients on the Island of Eigg. The post will be part of the Rural Support Team.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is able to work on their own initiative with limited supervision.
You must be willing to undertake training in a recognised national programme of competency based training for Support Workers, eg SQ Level 3, to enable them to assist qualified staff within the multidisciplinary team. There may be a requirement to travel off the island to undertake some of the training.
Previous experience of paid or voluntary service in a caring environment would be advantageous, along with an interest in caring for people. Experience of dealing with vulnerable adults, especially older adults in a caring capacity would be desirable.
The successful candidate should be IT literate, have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook, and be educated to Standard Grade or equivalent. IT qualification is desirable.
Candidates should have good organisational and time management skills, be able to organise their time effectively and have excellent communication skills.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
