The successful candidates will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and professional nursing care to individuals in a variety of settings, including mental health inpatient wards and community services. You will work flexibly, providing high-quality care as needed to support the staffing requirements of the Trust.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to patients in a safe, effective, and compassionate manner.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assess, plan, and implement care plans for patients.
  • Administer medications, monitor progress, and assist with clinical procedures.
  • Provide support to patients with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or other complex needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with Trust policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development and contribute to team learning.
  • On occasion acting as the Nurse in Charge, providing quality leadership to services.

What We’re Looking For?

  • Particularly Registered Mental Health or  Learning Disability with scope for General Nurses with interest and experience in services provided by the Trust.
  • All applicants must be NMC registered as a nurse.
  • Experience in mental health, learning disability or other relevant clinical areas.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong commitment to patient care.
  • Ability to work flexibly, which may include nights, weekends, and bank holidays, as per the needs of the Trust.
  • A compassionate, professional attitude with a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of patients.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

It is essential that you are reliable, punctual and work well within our services, as well as working under Trust Policy and the NMC Code of Conduct.

  • Evidence of nursing qualifications and NMC registration.
  • Your Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Your experience in Mental Health and/or Learning Disability services.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the affect on service users and families.
