Main duties of the job
Your key responsibilities will include:
Patient Care
- Deliver direct care and emotional support to patients in line with Trust policies and procedures
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as personal hygiene, nutrition and mobility
- Support a patient-centred approach to care delivery
- Monitor and record basic observations (e.g., temperature, pulse, blood pressure) once trained
- Report any changes in a patients condition to a registered nurse promptly
Supporting Clinical Teams
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure safe and effective care
- Assist in the day-to-day running of the ward as delegated
- Attend ward handovers and contribute to care planning
Communication & Documentation
- Maintain accurate patient records in line with national and Trust standards
- Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues, adapting your approach to meet individual needs
- Maintain patient dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all Trust policies, procedures and infection prevention guidelines
- Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Complete mandatory training and participate in ongoing professional development
