During the event you will have the opportunity to meet some of the team and talk to our staff about working for the Trust.  You will have a chance to speak with NHFT colleagues and find more about bank HCA opportunities within older adult’s mental health. Additionally, you will be able to discuss career progression and potential substantive opportunities available within the organisation.

The older adult mental health team is made up of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Nurses, Student nurses, Healthcare assistants, Registered nursing associates, Doctors, Occupational therapists, Psychologists, Physiotherapists.

If you are currently working in a HCA role and looking to develop your skills in a new setting, then this is the role for you!

Main duties of the job

The team will be running regular presentations and Q&A sessions throughout the event to provide key information on the bank roles available, what the role looks like, what support we provide and how we can support you. These sessions start at 10:30am and will run every hour from 10:30am to 13:30pm. Alongside the presentations, we will be completing suitability assessments to ensure you meet the requirements for interview.

We are looking for individuals who have a genuine interest and desire to care for older adults with mental health needs such as Anxiety and depression. We require staff that are compassionate and empathetic to the needs of our service users and carers.

The service is a 24-hour service, with expectation of bank shifts being across both daytime shifts, as well as weekends and night duty.

We are looking for bank staff who possess excellent interpersonal skills, be highly motivated with a positive person-centred approach, as well as being able to motivate others. Other skills required for the role are to be reliable and have resilience to working in a busy and at times stressful environment. The ability to undertake physical interventions training is essential.
