South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAmb) is seeking experienced and motivated Bank General Practitioners to join our Integrated Urgent Care Clinical Assessment Service (IUC CAS).
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing some of the most complex and time-sensitive patient cases via our 111 and 999 services.
As a senior clinician in our dynamic and supportive team, you’ll work remotely and/or from our EOCs in Crawley and Medway, delivering high-quality, patient-focused care through telephone and video consultations. Please note you must be available to attend one of the below training courses, please only apply if you can commit to either sets of these dates. You must be available on all 4 days of the training.
Training will be held at Medway Make Ready Centre, Gillingham Kent, ME8 6PL on the below dates:
- 12th-15th August 2026
- 24th-27th August 2026
The training will include 2 days classroom based training & 2 days mentoring.
Upon successfully completing training, you will be required to complete a minimum of 8 hours per month, across at least two shifts.
Main duties of the job
- Provide definitive clinical assessments and decision-making support for patients accessing urgent and emergency care services.
- Offer clinical advice and guidance to non-medical colleagues, including operational managers and frontline staff.
- Act as a mentor and clinical leader, promoting best practice and shared learning.
- Manage high-acuity and complex cases efficiently, ensuring patient safety and optimal care pathways.
- Liaise directly with healthcare professionals and services to coordinate patient care and onward referrals.
- Participate in continuous clinical quality improvement initiatives and thematic learning.
- Commit to out-of-hours availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, in line with service needs.

- Ensuring patient safety and appropriate care pathways through collaboration with other services and healthcare providers.
- Upholding SECAmb’s commitment to safeguarding, equality, and diversity in every patient interaction.
Additional Requirements:
- Registered GP with at least two years’ autonomous practice.
- GMC registration and inclusion on the GP Performers List.
- Experience in triage, urgent care, or emergency medicine settings desirable.
- Proficient communication skills and IT literacy essential.
- Willingness to work flexibly, including out-of-hours and public holidays.
