Are you an experienced cardiology nurse with an interest in structural heart disease and a commitment to evidence-based practice and clinical research?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Structural Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our structural heart disease service. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver expert specialist nursing care while contributing to clinical research and service development embedded within everyday practice.

The Role

As a Structural CNS, you will provide specialist nursing care to patients with structural heart disease across diagnostic, interventional, and follow-up pathways. You will work autonomously and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team, acting as a key point of contact for patients and families and supporting high-quality, coordinated care.

An important aspect of the role is contributing to clinical research activity within structural heart disease, working closely with cardiology consultants, fellows, research nurses, and the research department to support the delivery of research studies alongside clinical care.

Main duties of the job

Research Responsibilities (Integrated within the Role)

  • -       Support the delivery of clinical research studies related to structural heart interventions -       Identify, approach, and support recruitment of patients to structural intervention research trials -       Undertake clinical follow-up of trial patients in line with study protocols -       Complete accurate data entry into electronic case record forms -       Work collaboratively to ensure research activity is delivered safely, ethically, and in line with governance requirements -       Contribute to nurse-led research, audit, and service evaluation projects

Clinical Responsibilities

  • -       Provide specialist assessment, education, and support to patients with structural heart disease -       Act as a consistent point of contact throughout the patient pathway -       Work within consultant-led and nurse-led clinics -       Contribute to MDT discussions, care planning, and pathway coordination

Support service development and continuous improvement within structural heart services
