To manage the ophthalmology outpatient department at Whittington Hospital, and to have the responsibility for all resources in the department. To be a clinical expert and have overall continuing responsibility for the delivery of high quality patient care in the department, demonstrating clinical leadership. The post holder will work providing expert nursing care, nurse led p clinics  and health education for patients attending  the outpatient’s department The post holder must demonstrate a sound knowledge in the area of ophthalmology nursing and have the ability to co-ordinate relevant clinical issues trust wide and represent those views both internally & externally as required The post holder will be a member of the relevant service group/groups and represent nursing issues accordingly. Participate in the review, development and audit of research-based policies and procedures relating to ophthalmic  nursing Develop patient care directives outlining treatment for specific groups of patients using evidence based care practice To effectively manage the department resources, human resources and the clinical environment.  responsible for staff allocation, health roster
