Job overview

We are looking to recruit experienced band 6 midwives to join our  team of  experienced Midwives. If you are an experienced & NMC registered  midwife who, has an NMC PIN Number and would like to make a difference  to women and their families, then we would like to hear from you.

By joining our team you will have the opportunity to bring your wealth of  knowledge and experience to our maternity service.

Although this position is a 12 months fixed-term contract, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter than 12 months.

Main duties of the job

  • To provide a full range of health education, psychological support, and social care advice to women, including preconception care where required and across various settings. To be responsible and accountable for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating programmes of care throughout the antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal periods for women and their babies. The role also involves acting as a preceptor for newly qualified midwives and other staff, while working autonomously within professional guidelines and scope of practice.
