Job overview

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Physiotherapist to join our Cardiorespiratory Rotation at Barnet Hospital. Our Band 6 Physiotherapists gain experience in the following areas:

  • Intensive Care & High Dependency Units
  • Head & Neck and Colorectal Surgery
  • Enhanced Care Unit (including NIV)
  • Acute Respiratory Care
  • Acute Cardiology
  • Acute Medicine
  • Cardiorespiratory outpatients
  • Paediatrics
  • ITU Step-Down and ITU Follow-Up Clinic
  • Tracheostomy management

You will be joining an experienced multidisciplinary therapy team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dietitians and Therapy Support Workers, supported by a Clinical Lead Therapist. In addition to this, you will also work closely with the Neurology and Orthopaedic therapy teams, the Patient at Risk and Resuscitation Team and the Respiratory, Cardiac and ENT Nurse Specialists.

Main duties of the job

You will need to be a dynamic team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to teach, supervise and appraise band 5 Physiotherapists, Therapy Support Workers and Students. You will need to have a broad range of experience across core rotations (including respiratory). You will be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical reasoning, organisational and prioritisation skills in order to manage a caseload effectively.
