An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist’s to join our innovative community based team working across Coventry. We have a 1.8 vacancies and so we invite applicants interested in both full and part time permanent employment (minimum 22.5 hours).

Depending upon the number of applicants we may consider supporting a ‘Band 5/6 Developmental Post'.

We are seeking a motivated individual with a keen interest in working with children, who is committed to the development of our paediatric service. You will also need to have an Occupational Therapy qualification and HCPC registration.

We have developed specialist areas within Early Intervention, Complex Physical Disability and in our Hand and Upper limb service.  We are committed to professional development and evidence based practice, offering regular in-service training and peer group / one to one supervision. Internal and external courses are also supported.

Car owner/driver essential as it is unlikely that public transport will meet the needs of this job.

Main duties of the job

Our Children’s Occupational Therapy Service seeks to provide a high quality service to children young people and their families in their home, nurseries and schools.

We provide parent education sessions, assessment, interventions, advice and education to children and young people aged 0-19 with a Coventry GP.

We work with children and young people who have difficulties or a disability which impacts upon their daily participation in activities. We help children and young people to carry out activities they need or want to do in areas of self care, school work and play. If a child or young person has learning, sensory or physical difficulties, their ability to grow, learn, socialise and play can be compromised.

We work flexibly and with initiative, as we can work Independently and as part of our Multidisciplinary and Multi Agency Team.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

It would be an advantage if you have a working knowledge of formal and informal assessments for children & young people and some knowledge or experience of specialist paediatric equipment.
