Job overview

A Urology Nurse Specialist opportunity has become available in the urology nursing team. We are seeking a motivated, proactive nurse with vision and maturity, and knowledge of urological conditions and their treatments. The successful applicant will be required to work in close collaboration with the Benign Urology and wider Urology Multidisciplinary Team, as well as other health care professionals within the acute and primary care setting.

To apply you will be expected to have experience and knowledge of urological conditions and treatments including continence issues, treatments for benign diseases and urological cancers. The successful candidate should be willing to undertake autonomous nurse led clinics. You should also be an excellent communicator and be able to demonstrate the ability to inspire and manage change. You should be willing to learn and be an active member of our team of urology nurses.

We are a supportive team of nurses dedicated to carrying out high standards of care and developing the skills and knowledge of all its team members.

Main duties of the job

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality.
  • To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care.
  • To take the lead on delegated responsibilities as defined by the Lead nurse.
  • To support the Lead Nurse to monitor the safety and quality of care for patients..
  • To ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients’ feedback to maintain and improve patient care.
