Main duties of the job

The post holder will promote equality for all service users in a standalone 7 bedded dynamic Assessment and Treatment unit that offers high quality care & treatment for people with a learning disability. The post holder will assist with initial assessment process, contributing to discharge planning at the point of entry, ensuring consistent application of care and treatment plans throughout the duration of admission. The successful candidate will receive regular supervision and will be supported in their personal and professional development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The poster holder will:

• To provide quality evidence based nursing care, ensuring support and care for patients and carers within a multi-disciplinary team.
• To plan and organise own workload and associated activities and demands
• To be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
• To have a working knowledge of local and national policies and legislation which govern the current LD service provision.
• To be actively involved in the ongoing training needs of unqualified staff
• To understand the role in relation to the Care Programme Approach.
