We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated IT Clinical Systems Officer to join our dynamic IT Clinical Systems Team.
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and configuring a variety of Trust IT Clinical Systems, developing and maintaining a range of clinical systems, and assisting Trust clinicians and managers to make the most effective use of the systems available to them.
You will promote best practice by providing guidance and training to minimise inappropriate usage and inspire system users. A passion for delivering excellent services to healthcare staff and service users is essential.
You should be highly motivated and possess excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office and IT Service Desk systems and processes. Strong communication and customer service skills, good technical and service delivery skills, and experience in managing system incidents and requests through to resolution and change control are required.
The Clinical Systems Team acts as a central contact point within the IT Department and with suppliers, providing support to the Trust’s user base to enable effective use of the systems.
Experience and understanding of how administration and clinical processes work together, and how to support clinical systems, would be desirable, although training will be provided.
System administration and configuration of several Clinical Systems and the Electronic Patient Record (EPR), including new profiles and associated access requests, investigating and resolving incidents and requests (such as data corrections and user changes), where troubleshooting and investigation will need to be carried out, and configuration tasks such as letters and appointment activities.
Monitor, prioritise, and manage the Clinical Systems Support queue within the IT Service Desk system.
Take ownership and responsibility for tickets and prioritise them in accordance with procedures and any Service Level Agreements (SLAs) currently in operation.
Identify IT Clinical Systems bugs, performance, and stability issues, and report these to the relevant party—such as the supplier, IT system managers, or other IT support teams.
Investigate faults, user problems, and other requests for support and/or information, and take the most appropriate actions to reach a satisfactory resolution.
Provide expert Clinical Systems advice to end users and colleagues.
Liaise with stakeholders to promote understanding of Trust systems, providing support and training as necessary, both on-site and remotely.
Create and maintain IT Knowledge Base articles.
Work in conjunction with the Development and Testing Teams to support software upgrade releases and associated testing requirements.

To provide day-to-day business-as-usual support for Trust IT Systems.
Manage own workload, ensuring incidents and service requests are resolved within Service Level Agreements.
Participate in the configuration, testing, and tuning of IT systems appropriate to the role, supporting the deployment of patches and upgrades, and managing individual tasks through the change management process.
Liaise with stakeholders to promote understanding of Trust systems, providing support and training as necessary. Articulate and collate their requirements.
Identify IT system bugs, performance, and stability issues, and report these to the relevant party—such as the supplier, IT system managers, or other IT support teams.
Log IT system faults with suppliers and follow incidents through to resolution.
Investigate, review, and specify systems, including updates to existing or introduction of new IT systems.
Produce training guides and support material for colleagues and other IT support staff relevant to supported IT systems.
Ensure that all staff are treated with respect.
Provide support to the Senior IT Systems Managers in IG requirements.
