An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Technical Officer to join the team in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on a part time basis.

We are a busy department  providing a wide range of cardiac investigations and are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to join the team.

Main duties of the job

To perform ECGs on adults and paediatrics, ensuring accuracy and the highest standard of legibility in the department, clinics on the ward and in SCBU. To be able to place electrodes according to SCST National guidelines in order to obtain a good quality trace.

To have a working knowledge of all means available to reduce artefact and baseline wander, troubleshooting any Ambulatory monitoring (both Event, 24 hour, 48 hour, 7 day and BPs), to be able to connect equipment to patients to ensure good quality ECG recording. To be aware of how to reduce artefact.

To instruct patients in the use of the equipment. To set the event monitor to a mode suitable for each patient according to their symptoms.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
