An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and influential professional leader to join our organisation as Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP – Unplanned Care. Applications are welcome from appropriately experienced registered nurses, midwives, and allied health professionals.
As a core member of the Unplanned Care Group management team, you will be responsible for providing excellent professional nursing leadership across the Unplanned Care Group, assuring the provision of safe, effective and also evidence-based care with an agreed quality and financial framework.
As Associate Chief Nurse/of Nursing you will support the Deputy Chief Nurse by providing strategic and operational leadership and direction and will deputise across the full range of their portfolio. The post holder will need proven leadership skills, experience at a strategic level, and the ability to motivate and engage others as part of a multi-professional team using sound management and leadership skills.
The Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP works in partnership with the Associate Medical Director and Associate Director of Unplanned Care Group. The three roles have operational accountability for the workforce, service delivery, clinical quality and safety and financial control, and the implementation of the corporate objectives and Trust’s strategy within the division.
Together as a team the post holders will be responsible for defining care group objectives to meet corporate goals and ensuring that quality standards are met, and performance addressed where this is not the case.
The Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP is specifically accountable for the delivery and performance of the nursing / therapy staff within the care group. Ensuring compliance with standards of care and treatment meet the requirements of Care Quality Commission standards.
The Associate Chief Nurse/ Associate AHP also has lead responsibility for clinical governance in the care group. This includes infection control, risk management and the management of serious incidents and complaints, ensuring that action plans are completed and that the care groups learn from such events.
The Associate Chief Nurse/Associate AHP has a clinical leadership role in relation to nursing / AHP staff within the care groups, creating an environment which promotes and supports high standards of clinical and professional practice, resulting in high quality patient care.
