Sterile Service Band 2 Assistant technical officer
We are seeking to recruit an Assistant Technical Officer who will be expected to work rostered shifts on all days of the week in all of the Trusts decontamination facilities.
Role:
- To assist in ensuring that all products manufactured in the Trusts decontamination facilities are fit for purpose and produced in a timely and efficient manner. • To contribute towards a safe working environment within the departments. •To work as part of a team and undertake duties as directed by the management team of the Trusts decontamination facilities.
- To work within all of the decontamination facilities within UCLH Foundation Trust •To work as part of a team in accordance with the agreed Quality Procedures for the departments and to follow instruction where appropriate. •To work in all areas of the decontamination facilities on a day-to-day basis •To highlight and record any Non-Conformances with the department’s QMS to a senior member of staff.
Main duties of the job
- Supervise staff in all areas of production and distribution to ensure standards are maintained and work quotas met within a controlled environment, that QMS is effectively operated and monitored in accordance with the Quality Manual and associated Policies and Procedures. • To work in all areas of the service • To be responsible for final product release • To monitor technicians’ performance • To monitor compliance with dress code • To decontaminate, replace or repair as agreed, equipment for use in operating theatres and other clinical areas. • To supply products to specified areas in agreed quantities and to specified properties and cleanliness • To inspect and assemble instruments according to the agreed specification • To ensure by examination that products meet the required standards • To maintain delivery schedules • To provide customer service, visits and liaison • To participate in on-call duties • To ensure daily and weekly testing regime is carried out and adheres to regulatory standards • To carry out stock audits to include pack sterility and ensure packs are in date
