The North Wales Brain Injury Service is a clinical team for people with an acquired brain injury who reside in north Wales. It is a multi-professional, neuropsychology led service. We offer inpatient and community neurorehabilitation services for people with brain injury including stroke.

An opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to work in this specialist service. The post involves working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide person-centred neurorehabilitation to adults in the community. The post holder will conduct neuropsychological assessment and specific psychological interventions, both individual and group focused, under the supervision of Clinical Psychologists and Clinical Neuropsychologists. The post holder will also contribute to the clinical administration aspects of the referral system and may also be required to conduct service related audit projects.

Main duties of the job

In addition to supporting the delivery of clinical neuropsychology interventions, the post holder will also work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team, which includes physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech and language therapy.  The post holder will be expected to support the wider MDT with individual and group rehabilitation interventions under the supervision of qualified health professionals (Clinical Psychologists and Allied Health Professionals (AHPS).The post holder will be working in inpatient and / or community settings.

The role will also involve liaising and working with a range of other departments, disciplines and agencies to support the work of the team (e.g., the Therapies Service, Neurology, Primary Care, Social Care and Substance Misuse Services).

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
