An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the West Integrated Community Mental Health Team (WICMHT) based in Colburn, Richmond, North Yorkshire.  We are a friendly multidisciplinary team who work with adults (18 to 65) with both mild to moderate and severe and enduring mental health conditions. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, committed and enthusiastic band 4 Psychology Assistant on a fixed term 12 months, full-time basis.

The successful applicant will be joining a well-established and highly valued psychological therapies team. Governed psychological interventions offered to our service users include: CBT, DBT, CAT, EMDR, & CMT.  We work according to recovery focused goals and improve service users’ quality of life. WICMHT is a Trauma Informed Care Team and is passionate to employ an aspiring Assistant Psychologist who would like to gain valuable clinical experience. The main duties for the AP would include delivering Psychological Well-being Interventions (PWBI’s) in both an individual and group format and supporting clinicians with the assessment and formulation of need processes.

There will also be opportunities to assist in research, audit and service development as well the administration of some psychometric testing with Adult population.

We are looking for an Assistant Psychologist who is passionate about working with people with mild to moderate and moderate to severe mental health needs & who is enthusiastic and creative in their working.

As this is a fixed term post, we would ideally be looking for an assistant that already has experience working in NHS Adult Mental Health services.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Sponsorship may be available for this role in specific circumstances in line with Home Office regulations, where applicants were granted permission as a Skilled Worker under the immigration rules in place before 22 July 2025, and have had continuous permission as a Skilled Worker since then. Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder will work under the supervision of a Qualified Applied Psychologist. All necessary training will be provided. We welcome applicants from a motivated individual, who would like to work within Mental Health Services.

As an Assistant Psychologist you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will be supported by a senior clinical team and wider professionals in managing patient care.
