We are excited to offer an opportunity for a motivated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our developing Staff Support and Wellbeing Service at Newcastle upon Tyne NHS Foundation Trust.
This service will be providing psychological support across the Trust, with a focus on promoting wellbeing, resilience and trauma informed culture. We are seeking candidates with an excellent academic record in psychology, experience of working with people in health or care settings and strong communication and organisational skills. A commitment to staff wellbeing and an interest in trauma-informed practice is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those wishing to gain experience in applied psychology within a large NHS Trust, while making a positive difference to the wellbeing of colleagues.
We are a large psychology department with great links to local D.Clin university courses.

Main duties of the job
- Supporting delivery of group and individual well-being intervention
- Assisting with service evaluation, data collection and audit
- Developing resources to promote well-being
- Supporting psychological practitioners and wider colleagues in service delivery
- Contributing to research and quality improvement projects within the service

- To support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients
- Providing psychological assessment and psychological interventions under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist
- To assist in clinical related administration, conduct of audits, data quality work, teaching and project work
