We are looking for a creative, forward thinking and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our friendly and substantive Community Access multi-disciplinary service based across Luton and Central Bedfordshire Child Mental Health Services.
This post is offered within the Luton and Central Beds Community Access Service (CAS). The post is split 50:50 post between both teams.
The CAMH Community Access Services offer first step mental health support in communities through schools, primary care, family hubs, early help services and other community venues, and work alongside other CAMHS teams in a substantive stepped care model, offering specialist support, for example for clients in crisis, or those with eating disorders or learning difficulties.
Main duties of the job
The postholder will take a lead in audits, service evaluation and quality improvement initiatives within the service delivery of Luton and Central Bedfordshire Community Access Team (CAS). This includes conducting service-related and publishable research in development of a community resilience model of service delivery. You will support evaluation of innovative community therapeutic offers, such as Non-Violent Resistance groups. You will also support an exciting co-produced community and school-based quality improvement project under the supervision of a psychologist. You will have the opportunity to gain clinical case work experience and in planning and delivery of whole community approaches.
The post-holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy, initiative and self-management, and the ability to work well in a team.
You will be supported by regular clinical and management supervision sessions, access to a variety of CPD sessions, and performance appraisals. You will also participate in clinical discussions within the teams, complex case discussions and reflective spaces.
