A really exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to the multidisciplinary ADHD diagnostic and intervention service across NE and West Essex. This service will be aligned to the North Essex Autism Service and in future we are looking towards developing a neurodevelopmental service.
This team consists of nursing, psychiatry, psychology and pharmacy. These posts are crucial in spanning the clinical delivery of assessment and intervention both pharmacological and psychological for people with suspected or existing ADHD who are not eligible for secondary mental health services.
The post is to support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the ADHD Service across community settings. The assistant psychologist will work under the direct supervision of a qualified psychologist who will retain clinical responsibility for clinical work carried out, provided that the clinical work is within the care plan specified. To participate in audit, service evaluation and/or research and to undertake teaching and project work under the supervision of a qualified psychologist. Specific duties will be determined on the basis of skills and experience and operational service requirements, and may vary occasionally as service needs/priorities change. The postholder will also contribute one day a week to the LD Psychology and Behaviour Therapy service in supporting waiting list management.
