An amazing position is available for an Apprentice Radiography Assistant Practitioner! You will support the plain film service based at Royal Preston Hospital although there will be some requirement to work at other Trust sites.
You will be working initially as an Apprentice Radiographic Assistant Practitioner (paid at band 3) under IR(ME)R to produce high quality plain film images to aid in the diagnosis of patients conditions. Including working alongside radiographic practitioners in ED, fracture clinic, main x-ray and chest clinic.
There will be an expectation to work evenings and weekends.
You will be expected to engage with the university training course alongside clinical apprenticeship work to succeed in qualifying. The department will support you to achieve the qualification by allowing study time and university attendance, as well as clinical rostering to develop and refines skills.
This role is paid at band 3 until qualification. Upon qualification, an uplift to band 4 will be applied. Please note that failure to complete the course and pass in the specified time frame may result in termination of contract due to not fulfilling post duties.
As an integral member of the x-ray department, you will consistently uphold rigorous standards of patient care. Your responsibilities include aiding radiographers in acquiring diagnostic-quality x-rays, as well as providing assistance in patient chaperoning and changing procedures.
You will adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) while continuously maintaining your competency. You will collaborate closely with radiography practitioners to ensure the provision of a seamless 24-hour service, contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our department's operations.
