Job overview

Laurel Ward are excited to recruit a Band 4 Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate to join the team on a permanent basis.

Laurel Ward is a mixed sex unit based at Carlton Court Hospital, in Lowestoft.

We are a forward thinking and flexible team and we are looking to do things differently.

Following a review of our staffing establishment we are delighted to be able to offer opportunities at Band 4 level.

We are looking for energised individuals who wish to be part of something new and very special. We want creativity, innovative ideas and passion towards providing excellent patient care.

If you want to make a difference in peoples lives and change it for the better we want you to be part of our fantastic team.

Main duties of the job

Whilst there are some roles and responsibilities that can only be carried out by a Registered Nurse, we are looking to develop the role of an Assistant Practitioner or Nursing Associate to enable participation in a wider range of opportunities. This includes attending inpatient reviews, completing relevant documentation such as clinical notes and risk assessments (under the supervision of a Registered Nurse) and medication administration following completion of training and competency assessment.  You would also be involved in change management projects such as quality improvement. You will support the Registered Nurses with the day to day activities and provide support to service users throughout their inpatient journey.

The role would entail supporting the team in collaboratively assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating care for those we are privileged to look after.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Please note that this job role requires a Level 5 Qualification in Health and Social Care or equivalent. This includes a Nurse Associate qualification. Previous inpatient mental health experience is desired but not essential but the successful candidate will need to have clinical experience.

***Please ensure you check both job descriptions for the essential qualification before applying***

Please get in touch if you are working towards or wish to complete this qualification.
