To contribute to the provision of health care to the patients of Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, by providing confidential and comprehensive secretarial service to the consultant and associated team within the consultant’s speciality.

Following appropriate systems, procedures, policies and processes, ensuring efficient and accurate typing skills are performed and that timely communication is carried out to allow the patients to experience a smooth journey at all times.

This post is a permanent position working in the Colorectal Department, Prince Charles Hospital.

Main duties of the job

Assist the Medical secretary within the Colorectal Team by providing direct support within the consultant and nursing colorectal teams.

Routine typing/audio typing of clinical correspondence. Managing Consultant’s diaries, prioritising results, organising clinical activity.  Liaising with patients, GP’s and outside Health Boards to provide treatment and care.

Carry out routine office tasks eg photocopying, scanning, filing, shredding, distribution of documents and process information of a sensitive and confidential basis.

Request patient nots as required for complaints and serious incidences.  Adhere to University Health Board policies and procedures.

Open, sort and circulate mail to appropriate members of staff, ensuring all mail is dealt with appropriately and in a timely manner.

Receive all incoming internal and external calls, dealing with them if able or diverting to appropriate personnel.

Manage electronic diary and arrange any meeting/s if appropriate.
