The Assistant Commissioning Manager will:-
- Support a Commissioning Manager and/or Head of Commissioning to manage a designated portfolio within a Commissioning Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services.
- Support the planning, stakeholder engagement, and performance management of the delegated portfolio to achieve the best outcomes for patients and the organisation.
- Support the overarching contract management and review, taking responsibility for specific pieces of work within commissioned services or contracts across the Directorate.
- Utilise commissioning skills, supporting the Commissioning Manager to ensure appropriateness and consistency to deliver high quality, equitable services delivering improved outcomes for patients and value for money.
- Plan, organise and coordinate directorate activities, including workshops, Commissioning Team meetings, stakeholder events and strategy sessions.
- Coordinate work with Finance and Value colleagues, supporting the management of contracts, Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Long-Term Agreements (LTAs).
- Be accountable to the Commissioning Manager for their performance and provide advice and support to Heads of Commissioning and Assistant Directors of Commissioning for the commissioning of services within the portfolio and their allocated services or contracts.
Main duties of the job
As Assistant Commissioning Manager, you will work within the Welsh Kidney Network (WKN). Working within a diverse and changing portfolio of work aimed at the continual development of kidney care across Wales, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred services. The role will:
- support the commissioning of specific services or contracts within the portfolio.
- support the review and coordination of contracts within the Directorate portfolio, guided by the senior team within the network
- support the network to work with stakeholders to develop plans to improve quality and value across the delegated portfolio.
- coordinate commissioning plans for the delegated portfolio and coordinate the development of service specifications and standards as required.
- synthesise information from a range of sources to inform commissioning and contract management, preparing reports for committees, workshops and meetings.
Presenting detailed information to a range of audiences, including senior leaders, and stakeholders. You will work closely with the core Welsh Kidney Network team and lead clinicians, as well as with our colleagues across and within provider Health Boards, Welsh Government and the wider Joint Commissioning Committee.
